2023 - 2024 Competitive Tryouts

Registration for the Spring tryouts for the upcoming 2023-24 season, at all levels in the OGHA will open on March 20th, 2023. 

OGHA tryouts will run between April 20th, 2023 and May 31st, 2023.  Please refer to the schedule below. 

Starting March 20th, 2023, players will be able to register by going to the RAMP Registration System and logging into their profile. 

The tryout fee is for the entire tryout process. This one-time fee covers a player's ability to try out for AA and lower levels as required. The tryout fee is $170. If a new Jersey (mandatory) is needed it is an additional $30. 

Players will be guaranteed a minimum of 2 hours of ice at each level of tryout except in cases where a safety concern has been identified. 

The tryouts at the U15 AA and U18 AA levels will start with mandatory off-ice testing on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023.  The testing will consist of jumps, sprints, shuttle runs and core. 

At U9 and U11, the association is running four development sessions in the Spring.  These sessions are open to all players within the age group (Competitive and House League).  In order to participate, a player must be registered for tryouts in the Ramp Registration System.  Additional development session are being planned for the Summer (August) and the tryouts for the U9 and U11 age groups will be held in the Fall.

Players who were registered last season with another OWHA-affiliated association must have a signed PTS form or a formal release from their previous association.  Players coming from minor hockey, or who have been formally released from their previous OWHA-

affiliated association do not require a PTS and will not count towards any import limitations. 

On the day of tryouts, players are asked to check in at the registration table upon arrival at the rink.  Dressing rooms, jersey colours etc will be assigned upon check-in. 

Players are obligated to attend a minimum of 60% of the tryout sessions to become eligible for a competitive team. If a player is unable to attend 60% of the tryout time (on-ice), OGHA Board approval is required prior to offering the player a roster spot.
