The Ottawa 67’s AA program is recognized as one of the premier female hockey development pathways in the region. Our mission is to provide athletes with an environment that fosters excellence in hockey while promoting personal growth and leadership. Designed for players at the U15, U18, and U22 levels, the program combines elite training with a strong emphasis on character development, ensuring that our athletes are prepared for success both on and off the ice.
Our vision is rooted in the principles of Hockey Canada’s Long-Term Player Development model. We believe that progressive, stage-specific training is essential for building well-rounded athletes. The program is guided by five core pillars—Create Space, Dictate the Play, Rush Defence, Create Green Shots, and Patient | Present | Deliberate. These principles form the foundation of our coaching philosophy and ensure consistency across all age groups.
The Ottawa 67’s AA program draws inspiration from leading high-performance initiatives such as the Nepean Wildcats Advanced Development Program, Cornwall’s High-Performance Program, and Toronto Leaside’s High-Performance Program. Like these programs, we offer a comprehensive development model that integrates on-ice skill sessions with off-ice conditioning, video analysis, and mental performance coaching. Our athletes also benefit from exposure to showcase tournaments and inter-association events, providing opportunities to compete at the highest level and gain visibility for post-secondary recruitment.
Competitive play is a cornerstone of the program. U22AA teams participate in the OWHL Elite league, playing approximately 40 games per season, including provincial championships and showcase tournaments. U18AA and U15AA teams compete in roughly 20 league games and attend five to eight high-profile tournaments annually. This schedule is complemented by weekly practices, skill development sessions, and off-ice workshops focused on leadership, nutrition, and resilience.
The results speak for themselves. Ottawa 67’s AA has a proven track record of preparing athletes for NCAA and U Sports opportunities. Beyond hockey, we emphasize the development of life skills such as discipline, respect, and teamwork—qualities that serve our players well in all aspects of life. Our program is more than a hockey experience; it is a holistic approach to athlete development that balances competitive excellence with academic and personal growth.
