Senior House Winter League Information

The OGHA U22/Senior House League program offers players a fun, supportive, and development-focused environment where athletes can continue enjoying the game they love while building skills, confidence, and community. Designed for players from across Ottawa, this program emphasizes sportsmanship, fair play, and a positive hockey experience for all participants, reflecting OGHA’s commitment to fostering and developing female hockey at every level. Whether athletes are returning to the ice or continuing their journey beyond youth divisions, the U22/Senior House League provides an inclusive space to stay active, compete, and connect with peers who share a passion for the game.

WHEN WILL THE SEASON BEGIN?

The winter season runs from approximately late September until late March. 

HOW MANY GAMES ARE INCLUDED?

20 regular season games and playoffs.

ARE THERE ANY PRACTICES?

No. It’s all about fun game play!

WHEN ARE GAMES PLAYED?

Games will typically be played Thursday & Sunday nights between 8pm

and 10pm.

WHERE ARE GAMES PLAYED?

Games are typically played at Sandy Hill, J.A. Dulude, Jim Durrell arenas. Other venues may be used from time to time depending on availability.

ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS?

Minimum age is 18.  There is no age maximum so you never age out!

CAN I PLAY WITH MY FRIENDS?

Definitely! The goal is to have fun so you can register to play with one friend or as a group as friends. You can even register as a full team!

WHAT IS THE LEVEL OF COMPETITION?

Open to all House to Competitive B level players. Stronger players are welcome as long as they are willing to adjust their play to a fair level.

ARE THERE ANY TOURNAMENTS?

The plan is to participate in the OGHA tournament which is typically held on the February long weekend. The goal is to have a fundraiser to cover the participation costs.

HOW MUCH ARE THE REGISTRATION FEES?

$400 and no team fees.

HOW MANY PLAYERS WILL BE ROSTERED PER TEAM?

This will depend on our final registration numbers but the goal is to have 12-16 players per team.

HOW MANY TEAMS ARE THERE IN THE LEAGUE?

The goal for the winter season is to roster a minimum of 6-8 teams.

WHAT ABOUT JERSEYS?

Each team has its own individual team coloured jerseys. There is a one time cost of $55-$65 fee for a customized jersey that belongs to you. Some teams may choose to have a sponsor to cover the cost of jerseys.
